新年來啦!!!

There's one more week before Chinese New Years. One of my favorite holidays and it is a day to spend time with family and close friends. This year Chinese New Years is the same day as valentine day hehe...who would have known? I consider my family both traditional and Americanized but it doesn't even matter if you are traditional or Americanized as long as you are having fun.

This week I went back home to SF to kind of get ready for Chinese New Year but we had to buy lots of stuff to make sure the New Years will be full of luck and happiness. At first, I was planning to stay home and do some of my homework but I knew I had stuff to do. So I decided to meet up with my mom at Chinatown. When I got there Chinatown was crazy. I see young and old everywhere not like the usually group of people. I realized this day was the Chinese New Years Festival. Tons of food, flower, and music. I felt proud to be Chinese right then and there.

When I was waiting for my mom I notice some lion heads hanging in some shop. I wanted to take a pic of it and send it to Goh Goh but i realized that my camera phone application doesn't work. I really wanted to send him a pic because he loves lion dance so much but to bad =(. Finally, my mom arrived to Chinatown. First thing, I had to go get a haircut I don't know if it look nice or not but it is up to you to say. Then we walked around the festival and looked at tons of flowers and bought a lot too. But there were lots of orchid my favorite type of flowers and at that time I was thinking of Lo Poh because she told me that she bought some orchid hehe...

It was getting late and I ended up eating at Chinatown. I had some good food: Lamb Claypot, beansprout, and Chow Fun. It was a great time for me to catch up with my mom. I love my mom hehe...after we ate we went back home.

The next day, which is today, I started cleaning the house before Chinese New Years but i am still not finished. I will continue the cleaning on Friday. The bad part of today was that my mom told me that this year for people that are snakes will have the most bad luck ever. I was scared because I am in Davis and my family is in SF. If something were to happen i would not know what to do. My mom bought everything and told me everything that would cause me to not be unlucky. She bought me a jade bracelet and told me to wear the colors black, blue, and white.

Hopefully, this year will go will. I just have to be more careful.

PS to Goh Goh and Lo Poh

It is a New Year forget the bad from the past and continue in the present. I wish you both the best health and fortune. Lo Poh, do well in school you are smart. Goh Goh, you a successful guy and you do good at what you do. Stay strong and be proud to be toisan. Remember you both have luck in this year. You are not a snake...

To all my other friend stay strong and be confident. Peace ><
